Herb Greene painting Texas Man and Lenin

Texas Man and Lenin
48 x 48 inches
Mixed Media and Acrylic Binder on Canvas

By using collage techniques in my paintings, I am able to express the possibilities of fate and hope simultaneously.  In this painting I attempt to reflect on the human condition by bringing two different historical moments into conversation- the Great Depression is represented in the Farm Security Administration photograph of a Texan farmer and a photograph of Lenin, giving a public speech, references the Soviet Union era in Russia.
